Read Time:4 Minute, 38 Second

Everyone, everywhere, all at once…

I’d like you to imagine for just a moment that you are a Four dimensional being, able to travel not just in the familiar three dimensions of space such as up and down, left and right, back and fore and so on, but also able to travel backwards and forwards in time to visit any point in your life from your birth to your death just by saying so, just by desiring it.

In such an existence you can be at the moment of your birth and at the moment of your death in the twinkling of an eye or any point in between simply by wishing it.  What would it mean to be you living in a Four Dimensional way, when from the point of view of your extra dimensional self you are always being born and you are always dying, you are always experiencing that first kiss, or the first time that you ate chocolate, and the opposite is true, you are always experiencing pain, heartache, broken bones and sprains and illness, along with the sadness of watching loved ones die and every moment in between, making you a being with both a beginning and an end but also an immortal form of timelessness, at once your own Alpha and Omega?

What then would it be like to live in yet another higher dimension, this time a Fifth dimension, in which one could go in a sense sideways in time, the equivalent of left and right in time?  Instead of being able to visit all of the points of your linear three dimensional existence would this not allow us to see into other possibilities such as what would have happened if you turned left instead of right, went to work five minutes later instead of early or on time? If you said ‘no’ instead of ‘yes,’ and so on, seeing alternative versions of yourself that you can scarcely imagine, such as growing up to becoming a serial killer, and that’s all you, every possible thing you can imagine for yourself whether great riches or poverty must therefore exist in this logical framework.

Then we have the Sixth dimension of time in which you can, in a sense, go up and down seeing into other possible lifetimes, simply by wishing it, what would have happened if you had been born five minutes earlier or later, or even centuries past or what is from our point of view, our future?  You’d have the ability to see into separate timelines and circumstances that are all you.

Then what of higher dimensions, a Seventh dimension? Would this allow us to jump ship, to visit every moment of not just ourselves, but others also, to be able to visit every single instant of every single life just by wanting to do so.  Is this what an act of imagination really is, are we seeing into the lived experience of either ourselves in different circumstances or that of others?  Is this what memory is, when we relive experiences from our past right now in the present?  Is this simply the psyche moving across higher dimensions to bring to us an experience that is outside of our present moment?

We, in our three dimensional forms will probably never know, but it’s fun to speculate and I suspect that across the multiverse that every single physical three dimensional possibility that we can imagine must exist, that there are copies of us and others doing wildly divergent things and of course identical things, Nietzsche was right when it came to eternal recurrence, that in infinite time all of the things that have happened before must happen again, even more so when you have more than one universe, all of which is increasingly hinted at by the discoveries of modern physics and cosmology.  If you’ve ever existed once, then you must exist an infinite number of times to be everywhere and everything all at once.  This is perhaps how an unlimited being experiences limitation, an answer to the paradox of God, how does a perfect being experience imperfection?  Well, it must be through us.

The universe is bewilderingly beautiful, terrifying, charmless, meaningless and at the same time meaningful, a bundle of paradoxes spread across multiple dimensions, and you as you find yourself to be right now, must exist!  You are one of an endless number of possibilities, a three dimensional representation of one of an infinite number of potentials, all of which are you because the mind that jumps from past to present to future, the mind that can go left and right in time, up and down in time, that can visit other timelines and existences must be the same mind that we all share, otherwise how else would it be possible?  We each have within us a single nexus of consciousness that is everyone, everywhere, all at once, making our three dimensional selves a single expression of an infinite mind and there can be nothing more beautiful than that.

The universe needs you because it is you, both in part and whole, in body and psyche.  We’re all one thing, both God and mortal, both Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, except that we experience it just one moment at a time.  Perhaps ‘spiritual progression,’ is merely an attempt to climb back up the ladder of awareness into these higher realms of space and time, to become more than we already are and exceed our present limitations.  It sounds wonderful.
