Did you know that you are one of an infinite number of you's in the multiverse.

Did you know that everyone has got a twin, an identical twin, some have been lucky enough to have been born with them here on this version of planet Earth, yet others have them out there somewhere in the greater cosmos, away from this world, and that’s because with enough time, material and space the laws of physics would have to produce another you, an identical copy of you, not just one but an infinite number of such doppelgangers, all of which would be act, think and talk like you, they’d not only look like you, but would consider themselves to be the real deal making you their copy!

That’s because in the approximate 1 or 2 cubic meters of space that you inhabit there’s only so many possible arrangements of atoms that can exist.  We can put a number to it, and like all numbers it will repeat into infinity and just like the number we come up with you too will repeat into infinity, provided that the universe goes on without limits beyond what we can see.  Cosmologists know that there’s a lot more of the universe out there than can be seen through a telescope but is it infinite?  We don’t really know.  Is it big enough to create identical copies of you?  We don’t really know.

The thing is though, we don’t need one universe to be infinitely large to create another you, all we really need is for the cosmos to keep on repeating into infinity, either one after another or simultaneously as predicted by many a quantum physicist.  If you roll a dice and get a 6 then in another five universes your copy rolled a 1,2,3,4 and a 5 respectively making every possibility equally real.  This might sound crazy, but this is what the mathematics of the finest minds predicts, that you are just a repeating form of matter in an infinite sea of parallel universes.  Your twin is out there somewhere, but there’s not just one, but an infinite number of them!

What we can take from this is that your unique form of matter will live and die, be born, age and pass away, but across the multiverse you are, in a sense, always being born, always growing older, always dying, except from your point of view you are experiencing it one moment at a time and this is because you’re limited to a singular experience of being ‘you’, a single instance of being ‘you,’ a three dimensional being pushed ever forward through time from birth to death, but what if you could transcend that and become multi-dimensional, able to see it all, everywhere, all at once?  Would you cease to be human?  Would you deepen in understanding as all of your copies experience identical and divergent lives because every material possibility must exist?  In one life you may be a billionaire, in others hopelessly poor, yet always you, fit and healthy, sickly and weak, but always you.

What would such an understanding do to you?  Would it make you compassionate, forgiving and kind wanting only the best for you and your other selves?  You are a pattern in the Cosmos, at once terrifying and beautiful a pattern that goes on without limits.  Immortality is real, but you get to live it one life at a time…
